That's really beautiful.I'd leave out the quotation marks on the closing sentences of each section. Perhaps use italics to help them stand out the way you seem to intend.
I concur with the above commenter. Really great essay. Will stand out amongst the sea of "I love to help people" personal statements. In my experience, standing out is a very good thing.
