So I'm back in Toronto today, after a long series of flights. I went to MEC and bought a down-filled jacket, gloves, and a new suitcase to replace the one that had a run-in with the baggage handlers in San Juan.
I had a spot of lunch with a friend from undergrad who was in town for an audition and we chatted about singing and life. It's funny how good friends stay good friends, even though you haven't seen them for years.
I have to say, though, that this world of modern travel is disorienting. Monday, I wrote three exams (and did very well on all of them), and went surfing. Yesterday, I was on planes and in airports and standing in lines all day. And today, I'm wearing a down jacket and there are a few snow flakes in the air, and I'm having coffee with a very old friend. It's enough to make one's head spin.
Speaking of my exams, those of you who actually read this blog may recall that I wasn't doing terribly well in my Cell Bio/Genetics/Biochem course. Well, I studied hard, and ended up with a B in the course. Which, considering that I was failing the course for most of the semester makes me pretty happy. And proud of myself. It didn't hurt that 40% of the grade was determined by two exams we took in the last week of class. I have to send off a vote of thanks to my study partners, who helped me immensely and motivated me to actually sit down and learn the stuff.
Now, to forget it! (just kidding)
So I'm heading up to my sister's place tomorrow, where I've been informed that I'm playing for my aunt's Christmas party tomorrow night. It's going to be fun, and will bring back fond memories of my days playing Christmas carols in the malls. I so do not miss being a starving artist.

Done
My second semester is done. I just finished writing three exams in the space of 2 and a half hours. I finished an hour early. I am fairly certain I passed, although two of them were really nasty exams.
It'll be really interesting to see how we all did. I'm now off home to clean my apartment, wash a counter-full of dishes, and pack. Because I'm flying home tomorrow. It's going to be cold!
I'll try and blog while I'm on break, but make no promises.
Happy holidays.

They like me, they really like me
So there's this site with a listing of many of the medically related blogs out there. I thought I'd check it out and see how some of the blogs that I read are ranked. Surprisingly, I'm actually on the list, and higher that I would have expected. This humble offering is ranked 506th.
